1n 1974 I was living in Belgium and work as an air hostess for Sabena airlines. The Belgium conquered Congo and the steward told me these Africans were animals cannot be taught!

Now look with care they are rising up to take good care of their country and thus their people! The west came to abuse and robe Africa but China came with a good heart to lift the people of Africa to greater heights!

 

Nairobi-Naivasha Standard Gauge Railway launched

The first China-made railway abroad

For over a decade, China’s state-owned enterprises have been encouraged to invest abroad. And the China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) is one of the SOEs that have taken up that call. The company is the main contractor of a standard gauge railway line in Kenya stretching from Mombasa on the coast to the capital Nairobi. Expected to be completed by June 2017, the line will be a critical infrastructure project to boost regional trade and deepen integration in East Africa.

No new railway had been built for the past hundred years until now. The new Standard Gauge Railway, upon completion, will connect Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and South Sudan. It is Kenya’s biggest infrastructural project since independence, but even more impressive is the way it’s been done. Chinese technology is combining with Kenyan skills to create one of the best examples of technology transfer on the continent. This is an example of trans-continental support in the run-up to the 6th forum for China Africa co-operation in South Africa.

 

Construction of Kenya Railways Picking Up

Kenya’s standard gauge railway has just received more locomotive engines that were shipped in as construction quickens. The upgraded railway system is expected to decongest the port of Mombasa and the country’s road network.
